RESEARCH ACHIEVEMENTS
Nicholas Lichtenberg-McGill, MD, OUM Class of 2018, and fourth-year student Danella Ashwin were selected to present during the week-long Joondalup Health Campus Research Week, 19-23 October 2020. Joondalup’s 722-bed hospital is the largest health care facility in the northern suburbs of Perth in Western Australia.
“Joondalup is one of our very supportive placement sites in Western Australia,” says Professor Hugh Bartholomeusz, Dean for Australia. “I see this as a testament to the strong research focus in our university and the quality of our students.” The Wednesday, 21 October presentations were:
- Dr. Nick Lichtenberg presented “Adverse pregnancy and neonatal outcomes associated with elevated maternal and paternal body mass index (BMI): a single‐centre retrospective cohort study.” He is nearing completion of his internship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands.
- Danella Ashwin presented “The impact a Mediterranean Diet in pregnancy has on neonatal body fat composition.”
