Project Launches in Samoa with Novo Nordisk and Oceania University of Medicine

In a partnership between Novo Nordisk and Asiata Professor Satupaitea Viali, Vice Chancellor and President of Oceania University of Medicine, a new research project has launched in Samoa which will look at metabolic conditions of its residents. The project focuses on obesity, diabetes, and related cardiometabolic conditions, following on the heels of a similar study which Novo Nordisk launched in Tahiti. The study has been approved by the Samoan Ministry of Health’s ethics committee and is being carried out by an all-Samoan study team of medical doctors based in the capital city of Apia.
